Janet and I performed at Angelo's Southern Grill. The gig went perfect and we were invited to perform there anytime we like! One comment from this nice couple "..we heard music, guitar music from everywhere in the country, but never heard the quality of sound you can produce with those instruments. It's amazing how you can change the volume using various finger strokes to bring out the melody, and your artist interpretation throughout each song really expresses the music and complements Janet's beautiful singing."

"The classical music at the beginning of the event really set the tone for the evening and created a lovely ambiance. I was fascinated by Bob's fingerstyle guitar technique because his playing sounds like two guitars at once. His instrumentals were simply beautiful and his music touched my heart. "Janet and Bob performed for my now wife and I. I could not have asked for a better experience. We had originally booked a Saturday evening on the beach, but mother nature was not cooperating. After driving out and preparing for Saturday night, Janet and Bob had no issue rescheduling for Sunday morning. I was already a nervous wreck, but they accommodated the last minute change without a problem. Sunday morning could not have gone any better. We recently organized a party with approximately 40 guests: we invited Janet and Bob to join us and they played very good music for the entire length of the party (3+ hours). Bob is an excellent guitarist, with tremendous professionalism and great ability to perform even difficult pieces. Janet is a superb singer: she entertained us with many songs, of different genre, also showing a very high degree of professionalism. In addition, both Janet and Bob are very friendly, sociable, and very easy to get along with. Everybody at my party loved them and their music. "Cover Story" — Robert W. Dillon, M.S. GGph'93, Ph.D. GGph'99, was featured in the cover story "Where Do We Go From Here"? Alumni panel ponders the digital economy's future. Dillon, a former geologist who worked in the oil industry and later the U.S. Geological Survey, parlayed his interest in personal investing into a tiday sum of personal wealth by running two Web sites for investors, from 1997 through 1999. By February 1998, his two online investment newsletters caught the attention of technology-related advertisers. "Companies began coming to us, wanting to advertise on our sites, and asking us to get their message out to our subscribers," Dillon says. "They were willing to pay anything -- I mean anything: stock or cash in extraordinary amounts. We were completely wrapped in the Internet blitz." Thanks to savvy investing, Dillon retired last year at age 41 to pursue his dream of playing classical and new age fingerstyle guitar on a full-time basis.
